Beryl Akello – 8 years old
Beryl is being supported by
The Joy Class at Gardendale Mt Vernon UMC.
God Bless each of you.
Beryl Akello, born in 2001, only knew her parents, Julias Nyerere and Fancy
Anyango, a very short time since both died of HIV/AIDS when she was very young. After her parents death her very old grandmother, Lucia Ochieng, who also cares for other dependents, took her in.
They live in a grass-hut house with mud on the walls with no electricity or running water. Beryl has a chronic skin disease. She is eight years old and in first grade at Wachara Primary School. The assistance provided by LCM Supporters will allow her to finish her education. Beryl first saw a white person when LCMs Short-term Mission Team visited Wachara in Dec 2008. She had never seen a vehicle until she actually boarded our bus heading to the LCM sponsored Vacation Bible School camp in Kisumu. Quite shy in nature mainly because of no parental love but she can be quite entertaining. She loves singing and still does not know what she wants to be in future. Praise God, Beryl now has a personal US Supporter. The Joy Class at Gardendale Mt Vernon UMC has become her big angel. She thanks you. Please keep her in your prayers.
