Browse around and find out who we are. You 'll find all the information you need  to find out what the Joy Class is all about. But the best way is come and join us! The greatest thing about the family of God is there is always room for for one more!

We meet each week at 9:45 am in Room 317 at Gardendale-Mt Vernon United Methodist Church, for an hour of fun, fellowship, and spiritual growth as we seek Biblical truths for our lives. The church is located on Highway 31 in Gardendale, Alabama. You'll find a map here on our web site.

Who are we?
 
The Joy Class is made up of some of the friendliest people you could ever meet. We range  in ages from the thirties to the sixties, and we are couples as well as singles and single again. We come from a variety of walks of life, which makes the dynamics of the group fun and interesting! Check out our members page and you'll see just how easy it will be to join in.
 
What are we?
 
The JOY Class is just a microcosm of the Gardendale-Mt Vernon congregation. We are believers and seekers of the Lord Jesus Christ, who seek to live the abundant life that Jesus taught, with the understanding that it does not begin when we die , but is a journey that leads to life everlasting! And we believe it begins now, when we live for him! We, like our whole church family, are becoming an Acts 1:8 group. Taking the love  of our Lord and Savior, to the community, the nation and the uttermost parts of the world! We believe that Christianity is not something your are, but something you do!
The Joy Class is an active part of the body of Christ!

We meet each Sunday morning at 9:45 . But come at 9:30 to the Fellowship Hall for coffee or juice and snacks! You will be greeted there by lots of good folks and some of them will be Joy members. They'll be happy to show you to the right room.

IT CAME FROM WITHIN!!

 

Where did that come from? You know that horrible, sinking feeling you have when something comes out of your mouth that you didn't expect - that is just so unlike you. Did you know those words are a reflection of a bigger problem lurking beneath the surface? "For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks," states Matthew 12:33. The scary truth is that the words you "accidentally" speak and the actions you later regret are actually in keeping with what's hiding in your heart!
